Sagar, the cod, is the third fish door knocker to be added to our collection. We have tried to capture a natural swimming pose by adding a subtle curve in the body. Although one of our smaller door knockers, Sagar weighs half a kilo and has a resounding knock. He has intricate detailing in the scales and fins and makes a decorative yet functional addition to any fish lover’s home or property near the sea.

Fitting your door knocker

Fixing Sagar to your front door is a simple process. Like all our brass door knockers, it is a surface mounted knocker. Our door knockers are suitable for wood doors as well as solid core composite doors and all screws and fittings are supplied.

FINISH OPTIONS

Aged Brass

A vintage appearance is achieved using a natural chemical-free patination process. A clear sealant is applied which protects your door knocker and prevents it from tarnishing. This is a thin and durable coating that, unlike a lacquer, will not crack or peel. It also gives protection against acid rain and salt air. No need for metal cleaning products, just wipe with a soft cloth periodically.

Polished Brass

Our polished door knockers show brass in its natural state. After casting they are highly polished until very bright and shiny. This finish can be maintained using a metal cleaner and soft brush or if left unpolished your door knocker will tarnish and age naturally. If you’d like your door knocker to remain highly polished without regular cleaning, we can add our protective sealant. Please let us know by making a note at checkout.

Raven Black

We apply a patina to the brass which creates a soft black finish that has a matt appearance. The brass is baked and the colour is left to mature before we add our sealant to protect the finish. Little maintenance is required, just wipe periodically with a soft cloth.

Satin Silver

We use a metal plating process over the brass to achieve a stylish silver with a matt finish. Our sealant is applied to protect the finish. Little maintenance is required, just wipe periodically with a soft cloth and warm soapy water

If you’re not happy please notify us within 14 days. Providing the door knocker is returned to us unused and in the original packaging, a full refund will be given minus the return postage. Cod door knocker

Very pleased with the door knocker. It was a housewarming gift and very nicely presented in a wooden box. Color matches sample and has an aged tint to it. We also like that it is a surface mount since the recipient has a full view glass door. This will be mounted on the side, not the door. Coming from the UK we were concerned it would take a long time but arrived quickly.
